Step 1 Download and Install AudFree Audio Capture for Mac

Firstly install the free trial version of AudFree Audio Capture on your Mac. Since the trial version only captures 1 minute of each audio track, you are highly recommeded to get the full version in order to enjoy the complete recording features. Once you received the license key, launch the recorder, find the 'Register' option and input the reg code to activate the program.

Step 2 Set Up the Audio Recorder

As soon as you open AudFree Audio Capture for Mac, you'll see the main window with some mainstream apps listed there, such as Chrome, iTunes, Safari, QuickTime, Spotify, or others. They are the commonly used media players or browsers installed on your Mac, making it easy for you to access and capture the audio with one click only. If the app you want to record audio from doesn't display there, you can simply click the '+' button to add the specific program to the main window.

Step 3 Set Audio Quality for Recordings

Before getting started to record the sound on your Mac, you need to go to the bottom right corner to find the 'audio' icon and set the output audio format such as MP3, WAV, AAC, M4A, M4B, FLAC and its parameters, like codec, bit rate, sample rate and channel.

Step 4 Start to Play and Record the Audios

Now from the main window, select the audio source/app and begin to play the music tracks you need to capture. Once started, you'll see a new recording task being created in the recording window. You can play multiple songs from different sources/programs at once and AudFree Audio Capture will record all the audios in real time and intelligently detect the gaps between all tracks so that it can split them into independent files correctly.

Step 5 Stop and Edit the Recorded Audios

To quit the capturing, you can simply stop playing the audio in the specific program and close it. If you want to merge different recordings into one file, you should check the option of 'Merge into one' before quiting. Once recorded, click the 'edit' icon in each audio column, so that you can split the audios to small clips. If you like, you can also edit the ID3 tags manually, including the music cover, title, artist, year, and more.

When everything is set up, click 'Save' button and it will store the recorded audios in high quality on your Mac. To preview the recordings, you can click on the 'history' icon and it will show you all the records as a list.
